My Moonlight Desires

Moonlight DesiresMy Moonlight Desires, the story of my life!

All my life I have been a dreamer. Since childhood, my daydreams (and nightdreams too!) were filled with the image of the black horse you see here. He would stride through scenes in my mind, cross-country, through the cities…a hero in the dark.

Sometimes he’d carry me with him, but most times, I was him. Often I’d imagine myself prowling the city streets at night, rescuing victims of crime by instilling the wrath of a stallion gone mad upon the criminals or attackers. Chasing them off, baring my teeth, they’d run in fear.

I think a lot of us have that fantasy. Of being the Hero, of rescuing innocents. How many of you have ever imagined yourself as a magical wild black stallion?

When I began taking my art more seriously, it wasn’t hard to determine a studio name for myself. That Black Stallion of my dreams, who was my muse, became the name which I began to become known for - Black Horse Studio & Design.

Probably the best way to describe this can be found in the words by musician Lawrence Gowan and his mystical song, Moonlight Desires.

You’ve got ways To take hold of my thoughts Over-riding my senses
Lock your sights Dead in line with my heart Share your powers
You stir my soul And whet my hunger And weave that spell That pulls me under

These moonlight desires Haunt me
They want me, they want me
These moonlight desires Haunt me
You’re sending, you’re sending

Secret fires Burn inside me unknown Raging on, Never mentionned
Only you Can uncover the flames Break their silence
And make them dance For us to see them And break their chains
And give them freedom
